CD Projekt Red is again leaning on Warner Bros. Interactive for one of its biggest games. When Cyberpunk 2077 eventually releases (whenever that may be), Warner Bros. will play a key role in North America.
The two companies have announced that Warner Bros. will distribute Cyberpunk 2077 in North America. This is seemingly the same relationship that was in place for both The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3. Additionally, Warner Bros. will be in charge of promotion, which likely includes all marketing costs.
There’s an important distinction to make here: Distribution and promotion are not the same as publishing. CD Projekt Red is still self-publishing Cyberpunk 2077. That means we can probably expect post-launch support to fall more in line with The Witcher 3‘s approach than, say, Middle-earth: Shadow of War‘s approach.
