A show as creative and visually arresting as Twin Peaks could have a lot of fun in virtual reality.

As teased today, there’s going to be a Twin Peaks VR experience from Collider Games, Showtime, and David Lynch. It’s planned for an eventual release on Steam for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

Attendees of next weekend’s Festival of Disruption, which runs from October 13 to 14 in Los Angeles, will get a first look at the VR experience. The event is pitched as a “music, art, film & creativity festival with artists hand-picked by David Lynch,” and proceeds go toward the David Lynch Foundation.

“Bringing life to the world of Twin Peaks like never before, Twin Peaks VR includes iconic moments and settings from 2017’s 18-part limited event series Twin Peaks, as well as the original landmark television series,” reads the summary. “Utilizing lines and sounds from the show itself, players will travel to Glastonbury Grove, only to end up in the puzzling Red Room. Fans of the series will follow in the footsteps of Special Agent Dale Cooper and try to make their way back into the life they left behind.”

This project could’ve gone in a bunch of different directions, but based on how these licensed adaptations tend to pan out, I’m expecting more of a “sights and sounds of the show” experience than an in-depth game or anything. Still, an immersive trip to the Red Room sounds worth taking.

If this has anything to do with the woodsmen, I’m going to lose my shit.
