We don’t know if we’ll ever get a new season of Sherlock, but the masterminds behind the Benedict Cumberbatch series are now turning their attention to another literary icon.
Writer-producers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss will offer a new take on Dracula in a new miniseries, inspired by the classic Bram Stoker novel. BBC One and Netflix will co-produce the project, which will consist of three 90-minute episodes. Per the BBC’s release, “Set in Transylvania in 1897, the blood-drinking Count is drawing his plans against Victorian London. And be warned: the dead travel fast.”
In a statement, Moffat and Mark Gatiss said, “There have always been stories about great evil. What’s special about Dracula, is that Bram Stoker gave evil its own hero.”
