There has been a steady buzz about the possibilities of major Diablo news at BlizzCon 2018. That’s largely because there’s a panel called “Diablo: What’s Next?” which is set to take place immediately after the opening keynote. That seems like a prime spot for Blizzard to elaborate on a huge reveal.
Maybe not, though. Blizzard has posted a BlizzCon update essentially asking that fans don’t get too excited about Diablo. The developer confirms that there are multiple Diablo projects in the works, and that it’ll reveal them “when the time is right.” Blizzard also says: “While we won’t be ready to announce all of our projects, we do intend to share some Diablo-related news with you at the show.”
We can probably put dreams of Diablo 4 to bed. At least for now. Unless this is a classic case of misdirection, BlizzCon will have some Diablo but not the major news everyone wants to see. Set your expectations appropriately and you won’t be disappointed.
