Fortnite’s Save the World mode – the one that isn’t Battle Royale – is no longer planned to go free-to-play in 2018, Epic has announced.
Since it entered early access development in 2017, Save the World has only been available to those willing to purchase a special “campaign pack”, starting at around £32.99. It was originally expected to go free-to-play sometime this year.
However, in its latest State of Development post, Epic explained that it will be postponing the move away from paid early access while it works on “a broad set of features, reworks, and backend system scaling we believe are needed to go free-to-play.”
