Hey, remember that Boba Fett movie that was apparently in the works by Logan director James Mangold? It’s okay if you haven’t because it doesn’t sound like it’s happening anymore. According to Deadline, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said that the project is no longer happening, with the studio focusing attention on streaming television show The Mandalorian instead.
Deadline also states that Mangold is no longer attached to such a Boba Fett project, with the director working on post-production for Ford vs. Ferrari, a film starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon about the rivalry between the two car manufacturers. Meanwhile, The Mandalorian, created by Jon Favreau, is fully in production, with a number of familiar names serving as directors for the episodes, including Bryce Dallas Howard, Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, What We Do in the Shadows), Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), and Deborah Chow (The High Cost of Living).
