Will any Incredibles character ever get a spinoff? Not if Brad Bird has anything to say about it.
During a recent junket interview for Incredibles 2, we asked the director which Incredibles character he would want to see get their own movie. While he thinks any character could carry a spin-off film, he strongly emphasized that, ultimately, he doesn’t want to make one.
“I don’t want to do a spin-off; this is the movie,” he said. “I think any character could have a spin-off; I even think the Wannabes could have a spin-off. But again, I’m not endorsing a spin-off.”
Bird continued by elaborating on his philosophy. “Here’s the reason: I think that we’re going over the same stuff too much in general. I would love to say ‘Bird has new idea!’ That would be a great headline.”
