DayZ‘s development has been anything but rushed. The zombie apocalypse survival game first entered Early Access in December 2013. Ever since then, it has been in alpha. Now, nearly five years later, DayZ enters beta on PC.

The important distinction between the two, as developer Bohemia Interactive says, is that DayZ‘s content and features are mostly finished. Now, Bohemia needs to focus on the finer aspects such as optimization, balancing, and bug-squashing. Bohemia lists some major points of the beta as:
