Jake Gyllenhaal has officially confirmed that he will be playing Mysterio in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Revealed through Gyllenhaal’s Instagram (as his first post at that), the heavily-rumored casting has proven to be true, as the video shows Gyllenhaal reading Amazing Spider-Man #311: The Return of the Man Called Mysterio! with another Mysterio-centric issue framed behind him. To seal the deal, the post includes the caption “I just realized I’m not playing Spider-Man.” It’s currently unclear which incarnation of Mysterio Gyllenhaal will be portraying.
