With the launch of My PS4 Life from Sony – which shows personalized video highlights for users of their games and trophies – people have now been reverse engineering player counts and percentages to calculate the total number of players for each PS4 game available.
Reddit user Gamstat revealed the simple math involved to get the estimates. They also specified these are all estimates, and the difficulty of finding an exact number due to certain regions not being accounted for.
Gamstat pointed out that every video discloses the exact number of players who received said trophy. That number, combined with the percentage of the people who obtained the trophy themselves – which can be found on Sony’s PlayStation website for all games – can give you an estimation of the amount of people playing that specific game.
