Update #2: With 32 critics reviews now counted, Holmes & Watson’s Rotten Tomatoes score has risen to 6 percent. Of those reviews, only two are positive (and mixed-positive at that), but at least that’s enough to raise the new Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly movie out of the zero-percent review aggregation territory it sat in for the first two days of its release.

Writes Vulture’s David Edelstein, who penned one of the two reviews deemed “positive” by Rotten Tomatoes: “When it’s bad

is, indeed, painful, but even third-rate Will Ferrell + John C. Reilly is more inspired than the noisy contraptions on either side of it in the multiplex.”
