This year’s Oscar nominees have been revealed. We’re thrilled to see Black Panther get nominated for Best Picture and other great films like Roma, The Favourite and A Star Is Born get plenty of love. And like every year, there are some pretty glaring omissions in the lineup.
From Bradley Cooper not getting a Best Director nom to a questionable Best Actor lineup, here are all the movies, actors and directors we think were snubbed by the Academy this year.
Bradley Cooper for Best Director
In general, the Academy showed plenty of love for A Star Is Born this year, with nominations for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress, among others. That’s why it’s so strange to see Bradley Cooper ignored when it comes to the Best Director category. You could argue that it’s a competitive field this year, with the likes of Yorgos Lanthimos, Spike Lee and Alfonso Cuarón fighting for the win. Still, it’s seems strange to ignore Cooper in this category when so many other awards shows have recognized him. It’s probably a bad sign for A Star Is Born’s chances at winning Best Picture.
