There are two exclamation points in this headline, intentionally there to offset how unenthused I am about this particular story. Mondays, am I right?
A recent Czech retailer listing suggests an Assassin’s Creed III / Assassin’s Creed: Liberation double pack is releasing on Switch. It’s certainly a possibility. Ubisoft is remastering these two games for a March 2019 launch on other platforms. Given how well most things sell on Switch nowadays, Ubisoft’s flagship franchise finally making the leap wouldn’t be particularly surprising.
However, the Assassin’s Creed rumors are piling up, clogging the inbox without any moving to the outbox. In December, a similar retailer leak pointed toward a mysterious Assassin’s Creed “compilation” eventually coming to Switch. There has been no movement on that front, and now there’s a second Assassin’s Creed pack supposedly debuting on Switch. (Unless [X-Files theme] the Assassin’s Creed III combo is the aforesaid compilation!)
Some Assassin’s Creed games might be coming to Switch unless they aren’t. It’s tough to take retailer leaks too seriously this time, because they keep pouring in and nothing has panned out yet. Tiring! Only Ubisoft can mercy kill this cycle of Assassin’s Creed Switch rumors.
