When 4K, 144Hz displays were first announced, the sentiment in the gaming community seemed to be one of cautious optimism. While Steam statistics show that most PC gamers are still playing at 1080p, gamers with more powerful hardware have always wanted to run higher resolutions at the highest possible refresh rate. Until now, the sweet spot between performance and fidelity was easily 1440p, 144Hz. However, with GPUs like the Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti, 4K high refresh rate gameplay is finally possible on AAA titles.
