The ads set to air during Super Bowl 53 will not include as many Hollywood movie spots as in the past, reported by THR.
The major Hollywood studios used to air as many as eight to 10 promos during the Super Bowl, but in 2018 they dropped to six, and this year could be as little as only three or four.
The main reason is due to high costs – as the price is approximately $5 million for a mere 30-second spot on CBS’ channel.
Disney is expected to have the most spots, as they have a huge film slate for 2019 – but it is unknown if they will show most of their trailers for upcoming films during pre and postgame shows, which cost roughly half as much as during the Super Bowl itself.
