Games got big. Physically big. Real big. In some cases, such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and, weirdly, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, they can be exceptionally greedy when it comes to your HDD space. Fortunately, there is always the option to add external memory to your console, via third-party HDD drives.

Seagate – one of the biggest plug-in HDD makers in the world – and Sony are finally getting together to release a branded external drive for the PlayStation 4. These drives will be 2TB in size and are “optimised for PS4”, which to be fair is a statement made about standard Seagate HDDs anyway.

The new “Game Drives” will be compatible with all models on PS4 and ready-to-run out of the box. All that is required is that your firmware is Version 4.55 or higher. The Seagate Game Drive launches next week, and is expected to retail for around $90 USD.
