Sometimes memes can take on a life of their own, so Daniel Radcliffe would like to set the record straight: He hasn’t been approached to play Wolverine now that Hugh Jackman has hung up the claws. Last week, X-Men movie producer Lauren Shuler Donner told reporters that they expect the role of Wolverine to be recast once Disney’s acquisition of Fox is complete, but no names have been discussed.
During an interview with Wired, responding to the query “Is Daniel Radcliffe the new Wolverine?” Radcliffe joked, “There’s going to be a new Wolverine movie, in which it starts off with Hugh Jackman being put into a hot wash. And then when he comes out, it’s me. So yes, I’m very happy to announce that here.”
