Netflix’s latest anthology, Love, Death & Robots, is like nothing you’ve seen before – by design.
The project hails from the devious minds of Deadpool director Tim Miller and Mindhunter’s David Fincher, who are executive producing the endeavor, but each of the 18 animated shorts (which are definitely NSFW) is created by different teams of animation filmmakers from around the world, including Hungary, France, Canada, and Korea, among others.
As you might be able to tell from our first look at the trailer, the shorts span numerous genres – blending science fiction, fantasy, horror, and comedy – as well as utilizing various animation styles, from traditional 2D to photo-real 3D CGI, creating what looks like a surreal, scary, and sexy fever dream that would probably make Philip K. Dick wake up in a cold sweat.
