I suddenly find myself feeling much less bummed about the prolonged absence of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Doom Patrol scratches a very similar itch. It also takes a deep dive into the DC Universe, celebrating the company’s misfits and oddballs over the more iconic heroes. It too has a wicked sense of humor, though one marked by both a darker streak and a greater sense of self-awareness. Above all, it’s one of the most purely enjoyable superhero shows you’ll find. None of the show’s initial appeal is diminished in its sophomore outing.
