Epic Games has announced that the Fortnite World Cup will be held this Summer in New York City. 200 qualified participants will compete for a chance to win 3 million dollars with the total prize pool of 30 million. Players will have a chance to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup in one of 10 online tournaments that will be held from April 13th and June 16th. Each 200 qualifiers will automatically be awarded $50,000.

It is unclear whether Fortnite gamer and twitch streamer, Ninja, who has previously won Fortnite Pro Am Celebrity tournament in 2018 will compete this year.

This tournament will be a much needed investment for Epic Games with Respawnss battle Royale, Apex Legend, picking up steam. Fortnite seeks to regain their popularity with an Epic, no puns intended, tournament that will guarantee huge viewership from fans across the globe.
