Xbox is now three for three when it comes to solid Games with Gold offerings to start off 2019. January had Celeste; February had Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon. March is more well-rounded.
The single most exciting game in March’s Games with Gold is probably Platinum’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which is available from March 16 through March 31. It’s playable on Xbox One through backward compatibility. A Star Wars gem is the other old game this month. Star Wars Republic Commando, which is a 2005 classic from the original Xbox, is available during the first half of the month.
The newer games are no slouches either. On Xbox One, Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion is free for the entirety of March. And, in a springtime “April showers bring May flowers” type of theme, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is available from March 16 through April 15.
Exactly half of the titles here make sense with regard to future releases. EA has already said it has plans to launch new Star Wars and Plants vs Zombies games by April 2020. Occasionally, these sort of things tend to pop up to serve as promotion for upcoming games. That’s fine, as long as they’re quality.
