After three weeks I’m comfortable saying Doom Patrol is worth maintaining a DC Universe subscription even if you don’t watch anything else on the service. This is the rare series that shows a confidence and self-assuredness from the very first episode. There’s no struggling to find the right voice or iron out the group dynamic. There’s only a black comedy that knows exactly how to make itself stand out amid a sea of other superhero TV series.
