Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California on May 31, 2019 and Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida on August 29, 2019.
Disney has announced that this expansion to its flagship park will be opening ahead of schedule at Disneyland Park. Both comprised of 14 acres of Star Wars goodness, Galaxy’s Edge will be Disney’s largest single-themed land expansion ever. It will take guests to the Black Spire Outpost, a village on the planet of Batuu. Here, guests can sample galactic food and beverages, explore merchant shops, and take the controls of the Millennium Falcon in the brand new ride, Smugglers Run.
Opening later this year will be phase two of the expansion, bringing with it Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, described as “the most ambitious, immersive and advanced attraction ever imagined, which will place guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance and will blur the lines between fantasy and reality.”
