Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode is free to play for all of April.
Developer Treyarch has announced that the last-man-standing battle royale portion of the 2018 shooter will be free for everyone to play from 2-30 April.
If you’re playing on console you’ll need an active subscription to PSN or Xbox Live, but aside from that there’s no cost. Just download Black Ops 4 and the Blackout mode will be freely available.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of Treyarch revealing a brand new map for Blackout – Alcatraz – which also goes live today on PlayStation 4, and a little later on Xbox One and PC. If you’re curious about Alcatraz and its seemingly smaller-scale approach to battle royale (last we looked, Alcatraz was a prison, not a huge, multi-biome island), then a free month seems like the best way to satisfy your curiosity.
