This is a mostly spoiler-free review of AMC and BBC America’s Killing Eve Season 2 premiere, with a spoiler section marked below. We won’t be doing weekly reviews, but we’ll check in with Killing Eve again at the end of Season 2 to see how things came together.

Truly, does one need anything more from a TV show than a cleverly-written, wittily-performed, impeccably-styled cat and mouse game between two fantastic female performers? We think not.

Despite switching showrunners (series creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge stepped back to work on other projects, including Season 2 of Amazon’s critically-adored Fleabag), Killing Eve doesn’t slow down in its sophomore season, further unfurling the intertwined narrative of its central figures, MI5 security officer Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) and the mercurial assassin apple of her eye, Villanelle (Jodie Comer).
