There is a lot of content in Resident Evil 2 if you want to unlock everything. To get to the game’s Hunk or Tofu modes, costumes, or guns, you have to play the game a lot and you have to do it well. That’s not necessarily feasible for everyone, especially if you own the game on different platforms because you found you liked performance better on a different one.
Much like the various unlockables in Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition, Capcom is offering a shortcut. You can now pay $4.99 for an All In-Game Rewards Unlock item. This unlocks all the stuff in the game that would otherwise require beating, say, a second run with Claire or Leon or beating the game on Hardcore difficulty. Another way to look at it is that everything the unlock DLC is offering can be earned in the game.
The official store listing shows the unlocks as “Extra ‘The 4th Survivor’, Extra ‘The Tofu Survivor’, Costume, ∞ Bonus Weapon, Model, Concept Art.” The items have various unlock conditions within the game.
What do you think of Capcom’s decision to sell unlock DLC for a game? Do you think it’s better at launch or a few months after the game has released? Or does it not really matter either way? Let us know below in the comments.
