Wesley Snipes is set to star as the villain in the upcoming casino heist action thriller Payline.
Snipes will also executive produce the film, which is described as “Ocean’s 11 meets Free Fire.” The script is being handled by Rob Robol and Jay Boyd, with the plot centering on a “small-town casino that turns into a battleground after two groups of criminals attempt to rob it on the same night.” This will be Snipes’ first role as a villain since 1993’s Demolition Man, where he played the psychopathic criminal Simon Phoenix.
Allan Ungar (who directed the Nathan Fillion-led Uncharted fan film), Richard Switzer and Jason Cherubini are set to produce while Alexander Ferguson will executive produce alongside Snipes. The film is being made by Dawn’s Light and Snipes’ Maandi House Studios (MHS).
