This is a (mostly) spoiler-free review for DreamWorks Animation’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power Season 2. All 7 episodes are currently available to stream on Netflix.
In 1985 She-Ra: Princess of Power hit airwaves, giving young girls everywhere their own mythical hero to emulate. She was flawed, but in a landscape where cartoons for women erred towards the light and fluffy, She-Ra gave them something different. Thirty-three-years later, Netflix revived the heroine, giving her friends of equal stature with She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. The second season of the animated cartoon, set to hit Netflix April 26, picks up right where season 1 left off – continuing to dive into the waters of not just superherodom, but issues of identity, friendship, and romance.
