The Battle of Winterfell was not kind to the Mormonts. Not only did young Lady Lyanna Mormont die a hero’s death so did Ser Jorah Mormont. And Jorah’s death was a fitting one, dying defending his beloved Khaleesi from encroaching wights..
Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss talked about the appropriateness of how Jorah’s story finally came to an end during HBO’s “Inside the Episode” following Sunday’s third episode of the final season, “The Long Night”.
“We talked about various endings for Jorah for a long time, but, you know, you think about Jorah, from the very first time we met him, he was with Daeny, and from that time, he’s been mostly by her side,” Benioff said.
