Ubisoft has announced that it is cancelling plans to increase The Division 2’s Gear Score cap in the wake of feedback from players.
Title Update 3, which will launch later this month, was originally set to increase the game’s Gear Score limit from 500 to 515, with new higher score items added to the game.
However, feedback from players suggested this would be a bad move. The increase would make all high-tier character builds obsolete, and immediately outdate all level 500 weapons and items. With the Raid due to go live shortly, it would mean all efforts by players to upgrade characters to max Gear Score level in preparation would be undone.
“We don’t want to invalidate your progression and we heard that feedback loud and clear from our community. Your gear and your builds are important to you and to us,” Ubisoft said in an update on The Division 2 website.
