Developer Respawn Entertainment is currently offering a free Apex Legends pack for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Containing some banners, character, and weapons skins for Lifeline and Mirage, the “Play Pack” is now available for download from the PSN store. It’s not the most elaborate of free gifts, but you can’t complain about free.
You may think the PS Plus requirement is redundant, but Apex Legends does not require a subscription to play online. As with other free-to-play games, users on consoles don’t need to pay for online services. It would be pretty scummy of Sony to demand that, especially when the whole point of free-to-play games is to give players with low income a chance to enjoy themselves. So while you may already have a PS Plus subscription and play Apex, the two aren’t mutually exclusive. I’m not sure if a few skins are worth signing up, but you could always do a single month if you really enjoy playing Lifeline or Mirage.
