George R. R. Martin has explained his future after Game of Thrones, and it may include a game of some kind.
In a post saying goodbye to Game of Thrones, Martin explains that he has a lot in the works, including developing eight shows (five at HBO, two at Hulu, one at the History Channel), some short films and, of course, his remaining books in the Song of Ice and Fire saga. But he also adds: “I’ve consulted on a video game out of Japan.”
Martin offers no more detail than that, but that hasn’t stopped speculation running wild. Most notably, it lends some credibility to long-running rumours that Martin has been worked with Dark Souls studio From Software (and its president Hidetaka Miyazaki) on an RPG of some sort.
