Apple is officially reintroducing the iPod Touch following a four-year hiatus.
This seventh generation iPod Touch is the first released since the sixth generation model came out in 2015, and it comes with some tech that has been introduced in subsequent iPhone models. The new iPod Touch includes the A10 Fusion chip that runs iOS 12, which was first introduced in the iPhone 7. However, it uses the same 4-inch display (1136-by-640 pixel resolution at 326ppi) used in the previous iPod Touch model. Luckily, for those who dislike using the Lightning headphone adapter, a 3.5mm headphone jack is built into the device.
Its rear 8MP camera is capable or 1080p video recording, while its 1.2MP front-facing camera supports 720p video recording. A single charge can allegedly power the device for 40 hours when listening to music, or eight hours when watching video. The new model is available in six colors: Space Gray, Gold, Silver, Red, Blue and Pink, and is available to purchase today online and later this week in retail locations.
