The lovely, combat-free exploration game Sable has been pushed back to a 2020 release, a press release from developer Shedworks announced today.
Shedworks’ Gregorious Kythreotis said Sable’s development began in 2017, and that they “started sharing the game very early on,” with an initial plan to be out sometime in 2019. He continued by saying that “the incredible reception we got meant that we very quickly got the backing of Raw Fury, and eventually Microsoft.”
Those early looks got them the support they needed, but it also meant that Sable was still a long ways off despite how much had already been shown. “We initially thought the game would take us around 2 years to develop,” Kythreotis explained. “It was an extremely rough estimate and for us to fully realise the game we want to make, we now think we need a bit more time.”
