Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith saw Mace Windu take a face full of lightning and get thrown out of the window of a skyscraper, but that might not be the end for the Jedi Council member if Samuel L. Jackson has anything to say about it.
In an interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show (via Comicbook.com), Jackson said, of any of the iconic characters from his career, he’d most like to reprise his role as the iconic Jedi Master. “I’d really love to get one more run at Mace Windu in Star Wars,” Jackson said.
Although the character’s fate seemed particularly dire, especially after having his hands cut off by a conflicted Anakin Skywalker, Jackson makes the point that other Star Wars characters have suffered far worse and survived, most notably Darth Maul, who survived falling down a long shaft after being cut in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi at the end of The Phantom Menace. Maul returned, stronger than ever, for both Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: Rebels.
