If Sony Santa Monica’s job listings are any indication, the developers behind IGN’s 2018 Game of the Year-winner God of War may be staffing up for development on a God of War 2018 follow-up — or a game really similar to it.
Recently posted Santa Monica’s job listings, for roles like Combat Designer, list under required knowledge and skills that candidates “must have knowledge of God of War (2018) and be able to speak about the combat systems, mechanics and enemies.”
While that’s not outright confirmation by Santa Monica or Sony in general of a God of War sequel, it would seemingly mean a future project from the studio is going to incorporate those combat systems, mechanics, and enemies, or at the very least be influenced by the work done on 2018’s God of War. (Of course, it could even just be Santa Monica wanting to hire new staff members who deeply understand the studio’s past work to contribute what it does next.) Naturally, after DualShockers spotted the job listings, that has led plenty of fans to speculate that Santa Monica is working on a God of War sequel, especially as it’s not the first hint that may be the case.
