Nintendo rules the roost of the physical UK charts this week, as creative Switch release Super Mario Maker 2 celebrates its second week in the number one spot. The stage building software fought off competition from Activision’s Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, still pulling in the sales to hold a comfortable second place position.
Nintendo also celebrated a boost in sales for major Switch releases The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Also creeping back into the Top 10 is Warner Bros. gory fighter Mortal Kombat 11, which shot up from number 24 to number 10, not ready to lay down and die in a bloody puddle just yet.
It was, however, a steep drop-off for Sega’s detective adventure Judgment and Ravensoft’s Car Mechanic Simulator, both of which dropped out of the Top 40 after just one week – though this can sometimes be expected for less mainstream releases. Also dropping down the charts is Frogwares’ gothic adventure The Sinking City, whihc dropped from number 12 to number 37.
