Veteran MCU screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely revealed at their panel at Friday’s San Diego Comic-Con several details about which characters and scenes were cut from early drafts of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
It was Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige’s idea to not lose the trippy Jim Starlin-inspired aspects of Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity War so the writers put the classic cosmic character The Living Tribunal in Avengers: Infinity War. He was to have appeared in a sequence that branched off from the battle on Titan when Doctor Strange was confronting Thanos. At one point, Strange hit Thanos in the head, pushing him through time and space like the way the Ancient One did to Strange back in his solo film.
