UFO Interactive has released, nay, unleashed the awesome power of Raiden V: Director’s Cut onto Nintendo Switch. The high-intensity, updated edition of the shmup sequel can be picked up in physical or digital form right now.

Raiden V: Director’s Cut is an expanded port of the 2016 Xbox One release Raiden V, itself the latest entry in the 29-year-old franchise. This “Director’s Cut” edition contains all of the features of the Xbox One release, including a fully-voiced story mode, several selectable vessels and even a bizarre system that allows friends to boost your ship’s power by digitally “cheering” you on. In addition, several new stages have been added, in order to further test the mettle of even the most hardened pilots.
