It seems some of the animators from Disney’s original Lion King film aren’t too pleased with the remake.
According to Indie Wire (via Slash Film), many of the original animators declined to comment on the new film when reached out to by Huffington Post, but those who did talk didn’t seem pleased.
“I will only get myself in trouble if I comment on the ‘other’ version,” said one animator anonymously about the new, more lifelike interpretation. Another said “There is a huge resentment against these 3D remakes from the original 2D crews. Maybe if we got any kind of royalties it would be different.”
