It has been recently announced that a number of Star Trek: Picard prequel projects are in the works ahead of the CBS All Access series due for release next year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network is partnering up with IDW Publishing and Simon & Schuster’s Galley Books to release a prequel novel and comic book miniseries that will help to bridge the gap between the end of Star Trek: Nemesis and the beginning of Star Trek: Picard.
IDW’s Star Trek: Picard – Countdown will be the first prequel to land, with the first issue of the comic book miniseries due to be released in November, and the third installment expected in January. Mike Johnson and Picard supervising producer Kristen Beyer are assuming writing duties for this series, which will focus on a single mission that changed the titular captain’s life forever.
