[Update: As revealed at EVO this week, Janemba will indeed be arriving in Dragon Ball FighterZ as a DLC character on August 8. You can check out a new trailer at the foot of the article.]
According to a premature post by Nintendo, the mighty Janemba is coming to Bandai Namco’s tag-team slugfest Dragon Ball FighterZ. The roster addition was revealed when Nintendo UK set live a DLC page for the character (which has since been removed.)
Janemba is known by Dragon Ball aficionados as the villain of 1995 movie Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn. Considered the living embodiment of evil, Janemba is infused with dangerous, reality-warping powers, restructuring his surroundings as best suit his cause. A proud and unstable villain, Janemba’s power is seemingly directly proportionate to his ego, as doubt and insults can affect the strength of his ability.
Given that international fighting tournament EVO 2019 takes place this coming weekend, there is a possibility that Janemba was to be revealed then. As to whether Bandai Namco take the hit and drop his trailer early – now the cat’s out of the bag – remains to be seen.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
