Arrow fans can expect a much different approach to the show’s eighth and final season. According to star Stephen Amell, each and every episode will serve as “an event” as the show ties up loose ends and paves the way for the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.
Amell teased this drastically different approach while talking to reporters at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
“I think that the show, as people have understood it and its structure I think it ended in our Season 7 finale,” said Amell. “This year is fundamentally different. The episodes are events. And, to me, the show, as we constructed it, ended when Emily
left.”
As Amell describes it, each episode is intended to wrap up a specific element of Arrow’s mythology leading up to Crisis and the series finale. “Every episode this year feels like we’re trying to try to put a button on a certain part of the show. And I’ve got a chance to work with actors and characters thus far that I haven’t had a chance to work with in a bunch of years.”
