Marvel and ABC are reportedly in “active talks” to develop a new TV series centred on female superheroes.
“I have spoken to Marvel and we are in active talks about one project in particular,” ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke told Deadline.
ABC aims to have at least one Marvel property on its network at “any given time”, and this series would fit in with its strategy of bringing a female-led group of superheroes to the screen, apparently focusing on a central character that would be “something brand new, mostly.”
While Burke remained tight-lipped on the finer details, the outlet reports that this project is completely separate from the hour-long TV drama about female characters with superpowers that Wonder Woman writer Allan Heinberg was developing for the network last year.
