The horror anthology format has been enjoying a resurgence on the small screen in recent years, between episodic series like Hulu’s Into the Dark and Amazon’s Lore (which tell a different, self-contained horror story in each episode) and season-long scares like FX’s American Horror Story, AMC’s The Terror, and Syfy’s Channel Zero (which switch themes each season).
Now, The CW is getting in on the thrills with Two Sentence Horror Stories, a TV show adaptation of the viral online fiction trend where writers attempt to craft spine-tingling tales in only two sentences. Each episode tackles a different horror story in a short-form format of around 20 minutes, with two episodes airing every Thursday beginning Aug. 8.
