Developer Iggymob has been teasing a brand new Gungrave game since the tail-end of 2017, and I’ve been there every step of the way.
Even something as insignificant as a logo, a vague non-gameplay story trailer, or concept art, and I’m pouring over it. That’s partially due to my love for Yasuhiro Nightow, Gungrave’s creator, and the fact that this now-faded game-turned-anime series (seriously) is coming back has me excited: we need more over-the-top action on the market like Devil May Cry 5.
But this time we’re actually getting more substantial information, as new screenshots have been released of the game’s locales, which include the overarching region of Scumland: a Southeast Asian island plagued with slum wars and mysterious disappearing structures. In other words, it’s right up Gungrave‘s alley. You can get a look at the various takes on Scumland in the gallery below.
Gungrave G.O.R.E is still slated for a December release on PS4 in Japan. We don’t know about any localization efforts yet, but given that Gungrave VR (which is said to be a prologue for G.O.R.E.) came out in the west, there’s definitely a chance it’ll happen.
