Superwide monitors have become all the rage, and now LG has decided to get in on the fun with a 49” display of its own: the 32:9, 1440p 49WL95C-W (See it at Amazon). AT $1,300 it’s not cheap but you’re getting a ton of desktop real estate with one of these monitors. Let’s put it through its paces.
LG 49 Ultra Wide Monitor – Design and Features
The 49WL95C-W is a slick looking monitor—the nearly frameless display sits on a wide, curved metal stand that looks at home in an office or a gaming cave. The stand does wobble slightly if you bump the desk, but it’s far from the worst I’ve seen, and you can adjust the height, tilt, and swivel to your tastes. There are no cable management holes or anything like that, though the thick cables it comes with are white, so they’ll likely blend in with your wall better than most.
