Disney revealed a critical new plot point for the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker at D23 Expo today. Alongside the debut of the film’s latest poster, we saw new footage showing Rey succumbing to the Dark Side and wielding a double-bladed red lightsaber. And according to star Daisy Ridley, this unexpected transformation is all part of Rey’s journey in the Star Wars saga.
“I think that it should hopefully show people that we did a big old journey and we explored some things.” said Rey after the Disney panel. “So just you wait until the film.”
