MGM Television and Hulu have signed on to adapt Margaret Atwood’s new novel The Testaments, which is the sequel to her best-selling book The Handmaid’s Tale.
Time reports that the studio and the streaming giant are in preliminary discussions with Bruce Miller, showrunner for the award-winning television adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale, about the best way to bring these brand new pages to the screen.
Landing on bookshelves on September 10, The Testaments picks up more than 15 years after the ambiguous ending of the original novel. The story offers a new window into Atwood’s dystopian world, as told from the perspective of three women connected to Gilead.
