I remember seeing Star Trek: The Motion Picture when it first came out. Yeah, that dates me as the film turns 40 this year (and is returning to theaters for its anniversary thanks to Fathom Events — get tickets here). But I recall it so clearly. My dad, my sister and I went to see the film, and it was a special occasion because the old man didn’t takes us to the movies very often. But we knew the TV show.
